Covid-19 Response Plan
Premise:
Covid-19 is a threat to the health and well being of every person. We recognize that these threats are not all the direct result of the disease itself and that many significant threats are the result of society’s response to the disease, which can be as severe if not more severe than those resulting from or through contracting the disease. This plan is conceived in order to address the most significant risks for each demographic group in a clear, concise, and compassionate way while honoring Christ our King in everything we do. The following is a list of our goals and implantation as a faith community:
Goals:
1. We will make meeting together in person and online each Sunday available to the church.
Hebrews 10:24-25 – Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
2. We will not forsake visiting and/or assisting the sick, the elderly, and all those in need while exercising our faith.
James 1:27 – Religion that God the Father accepts is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help; and keeping yourself free from the world’s evil influence. This is the kind of religion that God accepts as pure and good.
3. Where we can do so, while still remaining faithful and obedient to God, we will make every effort to comply with health regulations for the good of the congregation and society.
Titus 3:1 – Keep in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready for every good work.
4. We will put aside human politics for the good of others, sacrificing our human desires for the benefit of all God’s children.
1 Corinthians 13:5 – Love is never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.
Implementation:
To limit the spread of Covid-19 to or through our congregation we will, as a courtesy, as a congregation practice the following precautions prior to and while in attendance at Latchkey Church:
1. We will not knowingly attend in-person services at Latchkey Church if we have recently failed a Covid-19 test or we are currently experiencing the following symptoms or have been advised by a physician to quarantine:
-High Fever (Temperature over 100.2 degrees F)
-Persistent Cough
-Severe Headache
2. We will submit to having our temperature taken with a non-contacting thermometer prior to entry. We agree to return home if we are found to have a temperature greater than 100.2 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. We agree to wash or sanitize our hands upon entry to the building and before entry and before leaving the restroom.
4. We agree to seat ourselves with members of our household so as to avoid cross contamination.
5. We understand that masks are available to anyone who needs or desires one, and that if we choose not to wear one we agree that we are making a choice which has associated risks which we agree we are willing to accept (Please consult CDC website for risk information).
6. As a courtesy to others we agree to maintain social distance (6 ft. or current guideline) as much as possible and practical.
7. We agree to notify Latchkey Church should we discover that we have contracted Covid-19 within 72 hours of our attendance at a church function. If you wish to receive anonymous notice should someone report becoming infected, please leave your email on the attached list. When reporting a case of Covid-19 to those in attendance Identity information (if provided) will not be passed on. Only the fact that a case occurred and the date it was detected. Leaving your email is a voluntary submission.
